This johnny …
is Mr Strong from Strongtown.
He’s got the government by the whatsits
He’s got the prime minister by the whatsits
because he’s the johnny
that runs the Big Men
he’s the johnny that runs them round.
He opens all the Big Men’s tongues
and they all talk Mr Sweet talk
He unshuts all the Big Men’s eyes
and they all see Mr Strong’s Progress Highway Go Now!
This johnny
is a friend of mine
Mm he wears all the gear
and all the flash jangles that go with the gear
But he’s got me by the whatsits too
oh looking for work work woerk
and working working working
till I’m just a bunch of bones Ah
This johnny
is Mr Dollar

è il Signor Strong di Strongtown.
Ha il governo da nonsochè
Ha il primo ministro da nonsochè
Perché egli è johnny
Che gestisce i Grandi Uomini
È il johnny che li fa girare.
Egli apre la bocca dei Grandi
ed essi parlano con la bocca del signor Strong
Egli addolcisce le lingue di tutti i Grandi
Ed essi parlano la lingua del signor Sweet
Egli apre gli occhi di tutti i Grandi
ed tutti vedono la Superstrada indicata dal signor Strong!
Questo johnny
è un mio amico
Mm mette tutte le marce
e tutti i lampi che vanno con la marcia guizzano
Ma egli possiede anche me per il nonsochè
Mi fa correre per tutto lo spettacolo anche
Oh in cerca di lavoro lavoro lavoro
e lavorando lavorando lavorando
Fino a diventare un mucchio di ossa Ah
